In class meeting: agenda, minutes & recommendations
Problem: The parking problem at ADMC
Date of meeting: 19 March 2013
Time of meeting: 12:40pm
Venue: J12
Group members:
Chair: Hamad Al Mehairbi
Recording : Mubarak Al Mazrouei
Secretary: Mohammed Al Qubaisi
Participant: Abdullah Al Mehairbi
Agenda:
Parking problems at ADMC
Multi-storey parking at the F-block
Build a new parking lot at the F-block
Service of valet parking
The chairmen Hamad opened the meeting at 12:40pm
1. Build a multi-storey car park near the F-block.
Hamad said it is a very good idea to build multi-storey parking
Mohammed and Abdullah said it’s a very good idea to build the multi-storey parking but it will take a lot of time and it will be very expensive to build it. Hedley worried about the piece of land and wondered if the ADMC college does own the land or not. If not then it will be too expensive because the cost will be buying the piece of land and building multi-storey car park.
The disadvantages of building multi-storey parking is that it will take time to build it ; it’s too far and it is too expensive.
2. Mohammed the secretary talked about the idea of building a new parking lot near the F-block.
We all agreed about this idea because it can take a lot of cars in it and there will be no parking problems here. Abdullah said it will cheaper to build a new parking lot than to build multi-storey parking and we all agreed with it. Hedley asked a good question and it was hard to answer; he said if we build a new parking lot will the students park there rather than park in the old parking lot. We said they will because it will be easier to park there.
The only disadvantage of building a new parking beside the F-block is that it is too far from the classes.
3. Abdulla gave us a nice idea that is to have a valet parking.
Hamad and Mohammed said that it is a nice idea but it will be expensive and we need to have a contract agreement with a valet parking company; also it will be very expensive because the company will have too many drivers because there are many students in the college plus it will cost students to pay money for the service.
The disadvantage of having valet parking is that it is expensive. It needs a yearly contract with the company and it will be expensive for students to pay every day for the valet service.
At last after a long arguments and negotiations we have agreed that the best solution is to build a new parking lot near the F-block .
